The Top 23 Best Baby Shower Games

Don’t Say Baby

Start this very simple game as soon as your guests walk in the door. When you greet them, give the all a diaper pin and ask them to attach it to their clothing. Once all the guests have arrived, tell everyone that they’re no longer allowed to say the word baby.

If a guest hears someone say baby, they are to take that person’s diaper pin. At the end of the shower, the person with the most diaper pins, wins!

Find the Guest

This is a good one to play as an ice-breaker, particularly if your guests don’t know each other very well. Before the shower, write or type up, some fun facts about each guest on a piece of paper. Make sure that you place one of these sheets on each seat before your guests start to arrive.

Once everyone is there, give them some time to guess which fun fact belongs to which guest. The person who gets the most answers right is the winner.

Birthing Babies

Preparation for this game begins the night before the baby shower. Pop some tiny plastic babies in each compartment of an ice cube tray and freeze. Give each of your guests an ice baby in a cup and whoever’s baby melts first, wins the prize.

Baby Sketch Artists

This is a fun game that usually produces a lot of giggling. Give all your guests a paper plate and pen each and ask them to put the plate on their heads. The guests then have to draw a sketch of the baby, while the plate is on their head, and the best one wins.

Baby Items in the Bag

Before the shower, put 10 everyday baby items in a diaper bag. Give each guest a piece of paper and a pen and pass the diaper bag around. Each guest gets two minutes to put their hand in the bag, without looking into it, and identify the items in there.

The guest with the most items correct, wins the prize and Mom gets the diaper bag full of baby items.

Dirty Diapers

This has got to be one of the grossest baby shower games ever invented, but it’s also fun! Before the shower, put several different types of melted chocolate candies in either newborn size diapers or folded napkins. Pass the diapers or napkins around the group and ask all the guests to sniff it and guess what type of candy bar is in each one. The person with the most correct guesses wins.

Sloppy Diaper Relay

Diapers are obviously a theme at baby showers, so that’s why there’re several diaper games on our list. Set up several stations around the room, how many you need depends on how many guests you have. Put a doll wearing a diaper at each station.

Split your guests into groups, give each group a blindfold, and send them to a station. One person at a time wears the blindfold. The guest must take off and put on a new diaper while wearing the blindfold. Each person in the team gets a turn and the team who finishes first wins.

Tinkle in a Pot

An oldie but a goodie. Line up some jars at one end of the room. Line the guests up at the other end of the room. Give each guest a balloon that they must put up their shirt and a quarter they must place between their knees.

The guests then run to the other end of the room and the have to drop the quarter in their jar. The first person to get the quarter in the jar, wins. If your baby shower is an outdoor event, use water balloons instead of quarters

Diaper Derby

This one’s simple, yet very funny. Break your guests up into teams and give each team a roll of toilet paper. Guests get five minutes to wrap one member in a mock diaper. The team with the best diaper wins.

Guess the Baby Food

Gather together several tins of baby food, again the amount depends on how many guests you have. Put a number on the lid of each tin and take the labels off. Give each guest a spoon and then pass the tins around and ask everyone to guess what type of food it is. The person with the most correct guesses wins.

Guess Mom’s Measurements

Many baby shower games use tools such as scissors, but for this game, you need a pair of scissors and a ball of yarn. Pass the yarn around and each guest will cut a piece of string to the length they think they will need to get around Mom’s stomach.

Once everyone has cut the string, the guests get to try their string around Mom’s belly. The person that gets the closest wins.

Baby Shower Onesies

Make sure that you have enough onesies in different sizes to give to each guest. Give everyone a onesie, along with fabric paint and baby related embellishments. Ask them to decorate their onesie for the new baby. Mom gets to decide which one wins, and of course, she gets to keep the onesies when they’ve dried

Feed the Baby

This one is messy, so make sure you have some clean towels handy. Divide your guests into pairs and, one pair at a time, give each person a spoon and a small tin of applesauce. Also give them a bib and a blindfold each. Each person feeds the other while blindfolded. The fastest pair to finish their tins are the winners.

Drink Up Baby

This is a simple game but creates some great images for your Mom to laugh over later. Give each person a baby bottle filled with a liquid of your choice. Everybody drinks and the first person to finish their bottle wins.

Baby Price is Right

Buy ten to twelve baby related items and a pack of note cards. On each card, write the name of the item on one side and the price of the item on the other. Each guest has to guess the price of each item. The person with the highest total closest to the actual total wins the game. Mom gets to keep all the items.

Place the Baby on the Mommy

Before the baby shower starts, take a photo of Mom standing side on. Blow the photo up to poster size and hang it on a wall. Each guest gets a cutout of a baby and has a turn at being blindfolded. Once they have the blindfold on, they get gently spun around twice, and then have to walk to the wall to place the baby on Mom’s tummy. The person who gets the closest wins.

Who Knows Mommy Best?

Before the baby shower starts, take a photo of Mom standing side on. Blow the photo up to poster size and hang it on a wall. Each guest gets a cutout of a baby and has a turn at being blindfolded. Once they have the blindfold on, they get gently spun around twice, and then have to walk to the wall to place the baby on Mom’s tummy. The person who gets the closest wins.

The Baby Bucket List

Each guest has to write down one thing that the new Mom should do in the first year of baby’s life. Collect all the answers in a bucket and present it to Mom at the end of the shower. This is a great way to start a scrapbook for baby’s first year.

The Nursery Rhyme Quiz

Before the shower make up some computer pages with snippets from nursery rhymes typed on them. Give each guest a sheet and ask them to fill in the blanks. The person with the most correct, wins.

Do You Know Your Disney Babies?

Your guests will love this one. Make up some pages with the names of Disney Mom’s down one side of the page. Ask your guests to write down the baby’s names on the other side of the page. The person who gets the most right, wins.

Baby Shower ABC’s

Down the left side of a piece of paper, write or type, the letters of the alphabet. Give a pen and one of the sheets to each guest. The guests get one minute to write down a baby-related word for each letter. The person with the most words completed in one minute is the winner.

Watch What You Say

This is another familiar favorite of the most popular baby shower games. As your Mom opens her gifts, write down everything she says. Once everything has been opened, hold up the paper you’ve been writing on, and tell everyone “this is what she said on the night the baby was conceived.” Hand the paper to Mom and have her read out each sentence.

We’re Having a Baby

Break your guests up into teams of four or five and give each person a balloon and a pin. The first person in each team has to blow up their balloon and put it under their shirt. The second person does the same and so on.

Once everyone has a balloon up their shirt, the first person pops theirs with a pin. The next person does the same until all the balloons are popped. The team who finishes first wins.

How to Plan Your Baby Shower

The best time to host a baby shower is when the Mom is around 7 months pregnant. At this stage, unless there are complications with the pregnancy, Mom is still reasonably comfortable.

Once you’ve decided on a date, time, and location for the baby shower, it’s time to really get started with the planning.

Check with Mom about who she wants to invite and get the invitations out nice and early. You want to give the guests about 6 weeks’ notice. Once you’ve figured out your budget and planned your menu, you can begin creating the agenda.

It’s recommended that you give the guests about 20 minutes to settle in before the activities start, but make sure that they receive a drink on arrival. Serve the food while Mom is opening her presents and follow-up with desert and coffee.

Don’t forget to add room for party favors in the budget. Most Hostesses give each guest a small parting gift to remember the occasion by. While all these details are important, the main features of most baby showers are the games, so don’t forget to buy prizes for the winners.

The Final Winner of the Baby Shower Games

You can also keep a running score of who has one the most games during the shower and present them with a small gift or trophy at the end of the party.

Don’t forget that the best baby shower games are the silly ones, so remember to take plenty of photos for Mom to have a laugh over later.
